DORE & REES
Dore & Rees is one of the UK’s fastest growing regional auction houses, based in Frome, Somerset. Founded in 1868 the auction house has a long history, and today is owned and directed by Asian art specialist, Lee Young. Lee is well-known in the UK as an expert on the BBC Antiques Roadshow television show. With a career spanning over 30 years and several disciplines, Lee’s knowledge is encyclopaedic and his reputation is global, having worked as an auctioneer in the USA, Europe and Far East for major auction houses including Phillip’s, Sotheby’s and Freeman’s. Lee has handled and sold many world-class artefacts including the Xuande Thornhill Stem Cup in 2016, and more recently the Anthony Lovett Collection in 2023. Dore & Rees holds two major Asian art auctions per year, in line with international Asia weeks in May and November.
