Anrad Gallery
Founded by a private collector, Anrad Gallery offers a curation of the finest works of traditional Indian art. With a collection drawn from the swathe of Indian artistic traditions, our works range from stories painted on fabric scrolls to palm-leaf etchings and compelling iconographic images made with mineral pigments on silk, paper or traditional patta.
The Gallery’s heritage catalogue is sourced directly from master artists giving an insight into the rich and ancient culture of India. The founder blogs about the styles of art and the themes of these works on www.anradgallery.com.

The artworks shown are typical of the artistic traditions of several indigenous tribes and communities of India. Several artists that we work with are nationally recognised experts of their craft, having learnt, and improved upon, the skills and traditions that have been practiced in their families for generations.
These are reflected not only in the subject matter, but also in the methods used in the practice of their craft – be it the preparation of material on which they paint, the instruments they use or the pigments they make by hand from flowers, stones and tree gum found in their villages. In fact, the artists’ practice of their craft is extremely sustainable, whilst still maintaining the beauty and heritage of art painted many generations ago by their forefathers. The works shown are not only authentic and true to the original traditions, but also reflect the unique style and belief systems prevalent in the artists’ region.
We currently show works by appointment.
