These include symposia, performances, gallery talks, openings, lectures, short courses and much more. London’s eclectic resources make it a hub for art-world professionals and enthusiasts. V&A South Kensington – Urushi Now: Contemporary Japanese Lacquer
Urushi (lacquer) has been used in Japan for over 7,000 years. For centuries, lacquer-making techniques developed locally while reflecting cross-cultural influences from Asia. This display highlights the diversity of 21st-century artistic expression. The exhibition is curated by Masami Yamada and is presented for the 40th Anniversary of the Toshiba Gallery of Japanese Art.
British Museum – Korea
This expansive show draws exclusively from the 23,000 works donated by the late Samsung group Chairman Lee Kun-Hee to the National Museum of Korea (NMK) and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA) in 2021.
The Courtauld – Salman Toor: Someone Like You
This exhibition focuses on Salman Toor’s exploration of human interactions and the desire and struggle to experience a sense of belonging, both culturally and emotionally. The exhibition will bring together around 20 of the artist’s most iconic, thought-provoking and yet humorous paintings.
Dulwich Picture Gallery – Hokusai: Thirty-six views of Mt. Fuji from the Iuchi Collection
‘Hokusai: Thirty-six views of Mt. Fuji from the Iuchi Collection’ at Dulwich Picture Gallery brings one of the world’s most iconic print series to London. The exhibition presents, for the first time in the UK, the complete set of Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (c. 1830–33) by Katsushika Hokusai, Japan’s most celebrated printmaker.
Asian Art in London at The Lavery
As part of Asian Art in London 2026, we will host seven specialist exhibitions at The Lavery in South Kensington. Participants: AstaGuru, Anrad Gallery, Hanga Ten, Rob Dean Art, Runjeet Singh, Simon Pilling and Slaats Fine Art.

Eskenazi – Exhibition and a Book Launch for 1935 The International Exhibition of Chinese Art
Eskenazi marks the launch of 1935 The International Exhibition of Chinese Art, a new publication on one of the landmark exhibitions of the twentieth century. Held at the Royal Academy of Arts from November 1935 to March 1936, the exhibition brought treasures from China’s Palace Museum collection to Europe for the first time.
Talk: Inside Korea’s 2,000 Years of Creativity, Sang-ah Kim
The British Museum’s Korea: 2,000 Years of Creativity brings the Lee Kun-hee Collection – one of the most significant collections of Korean art – to Europe for the first time. It draws on more than 23,000 works donated to Korea’s national museums in 2021 by the family of the late Samsung chairman Lee Kun-Hee (1942–2020).
Curated Tour: Observed & Imagined – Indian Painting 17th – 19th Century, Dr Ursula Weekes
Please join art historian Dr Ursula Weekes for a curated tour of Francesca Galloway’s exhibition ‘Observed & Imagined – Indian Painting 17th – 19th Century’, presenting Indian paintings from the 17th to the 19th century. The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes. This is a free event, limited to 15 people.
AstaGuru UK – Panel Discussion: Collecting South Asian Art in The Global Context
In honour of Asian Art in London the panel dicussion will begin with introductory remarks by artist Tom Vattakuzhy. Speakers: Georgina Adam, Art Journalist & Author, will chair the discussion. Nadia Samdani MBE, Co-Founder and President, Samdani Art Foundation Director of Dhaka Art Summit. Lekha Poddar, Co-Founder, The Devi Art Foundation, Art collector and patron.
V&A South Kensington – Lunchtime Lecture: Urushi Now: Contemporary Japanese Lacquer, Masami Yamada
Masami Yamada introduces Urushi Now, the museum’s display of 21st-century Japanese lacquer. Lacquer has been used in Japan for over 7,000 years, and its techniques developed locally while absorbing influences from across Asia. Drawing on her research into contemporary urushi makers, she explores how today’s artists are reinterpreting this ancient medium.
