Oriental Ceramic Society Lecture ‘Chinese Whispers: British Chinoiserie Ceramics c. 1680-1820’
by Stella Beddoe Brighton and Hove's Decorative Art Collections include some 10,000 ceramic pieces, mostly English, notably the Willett Collection of pottery and porcelain, 'illustrating English popular history', presented in 1903. The Regency period furnishings of the Royal Pavilion are even better known, while of equal importance are the 20th-Century design collections, particularly holdings of European Art Nouveau and Art Deco furniture, ceramics, glass and metalwork.
